The Areaware Bottle Opener designed by Los Angeles-designer Brendan Ravenhill makes popping open bottles almost as fun as drinking what’s inside them. Almost. Sophisticated in its rustic simplicity, the bottle opener uses a single nail to get the job done plus two magnets, one that smartly grabs the bottle cap after opening and the other to hold the opener to the fridge.
Material: Beech or Walnut. Dimensions: 4.5 x 1.5 x .75 inches.
Available for purchase now at Wicked+, located at 145 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach, CA.
About the Designer:
Brendan Ravenhill spent his childhood years in Cote’d'Voire and summers in coastal Maine, where he fell in love with the functional beauty of working tools and wooden boats. He received a Sculpture degree from Oberlin College in 2001 and graduated from the masters program in Industrial Design at RISD in 2009. When not designing objects and buildings, Brendan can usually be found building or playing in boats. Brendan currently lives with his wife in Los Angeles, California.
